Bandit Offers Electric Power for Beast Grinders
Bandit Industries Beast Recycler grinders now can be equipped with an electric power unit. The new electric power unit is especially suited for applications where a permanent location is desirable.
The electric motors are similar to those used on heavy-duty rock crushers; they are built to withstand the shock loads often encountered in waste reduction machinery applications. The Beast’s electrical package includes a ‘soft start’ starter.
The benefits of electric motors include reduced cost to own and operate and less maintenance compared to diesel power.
Bandit Beast grinders are available in four sizes ranging from a 24-inch by 60-inch opening to a 50-inch by 60-inch opening. Electric-powered Beasts are equipped with the same features as the standard machines except for mobility. They feature a high-production, patented cuttermill that allows material to be cut, split or ground. The controlled, regulated cuttermill system maximizes horsepower, limits fuel consumption and reduces vibration.
Bandit Beast Recyclers are used in a wide variety of grinding applications, including trees, leaves, brush, bark, stumps, sawmill waste, logging waste, pallets, railroad ties, newspaper, cardboard, shingles, asphalt, and more.

Vermeer Develops New Mulch Coloring System for Horizontal Grinders
Vermeer has developed a mulch coloring system to be used on its horizontal grinding machines. The Vermeer ColorMaster CM101 enables companies to convert wood grindings into a value-added product — colored landscape mulch.
The CM101, designed as a durable, entry level system for the mulch coloring industry, attaches to the fender of any trailered horizontal grinder model.
The Vermeer CM101 is equipped with a pump, two spray bars, multiple hoses and up to 19 colorant nozzles. The spray bars attach quickly to specified locations, ensuring full material coverage with minimal set-up time. Two simple adjustable controls regulate flow of colorant and water, according to the material and other conditions.
The Vermeer CM101 operates directly off the horizontal grinder’s hydraulic system; no additional power source is required.
The Vermeer CM101 may be attached at the company’s factory or through a Vermeer dealership on any new or used Vermeer horizontal grinder mode.
