Boatright Leads Charity Drive for FRA in 2005 By Tim Cox Date Posted: 5/1/2005 Allen Boatright, owner of Boatright Timber Service in Tallahassee, Fla., is leading the Log-A-Load for Kids campaign in 2005. He is serving as chairman of the National Log-A-Load for Kids Advisory Group. The campaign, sponsored for the Forest Resources Association, encourages members of the forest products industry to donate the value of a load of logs or other wood products for the benefit of local children’s hospitals associated with the Children’s Miracle Network. “Log-A-Load for kids is a program that the whole forest industry can be proud of,” said Allen. “Log-A-Load gives us a chance to provide medical help to children in need.” Allen has served as state chairman of Florida’s Log-A-Load for Kids campaign since 1999. He succeeds Debby Blomberg in the national post. During her two years as national chairman, the campaign raised $2.1 million annually despite an industry-wide downturn. For more information about the Log-A-Load for Kids campaign, contact the Forest Resources Association at (301) 838-9385 or visit the Web site at www.forestresources.org. |
