AWMV Offers New Single Head Resaw

AWMV Industrial Products has introduced a new single-head resaw. Its innovative design produces very accurate lumber and is engineered for durability.

The AWMV single head resaw is an all-around utility resaw that can be used for remanufacturing boards or cants or reclaiming slabs into pallet stock or other products.

The saw head can be tilted easily to angle cut, producing lap siding and moulder blanks. It can resaw, split, or size almost any type of lumber, hardwood or softwood, green or dry. Boards can be ripped while processing several pieces at one time.

The AWMV single head resaw is powered by a standard 15 hp three-phase electric motor; other power options are available. It runs 25-inch diameter wheels of belted cast steel or solid cast steel. The saw can cut cants up to 16 inches high and 12 inches wide.

The AWMV single head resaw features angle side rollers, low maintenance roller block blade guides, electric variable speed feed drive, steel slat bed conveyor, and simple controls with integrated lock-out and e-stops at both ends of the saw.

Other options include infeed and outfeed tables and pressurized blade lubrication system.

Tigercat Unveils New 604 Cable Skidder

Tigercat has entered a new market segment for skidders with the introduction of its first cable skidders.

The Tigercat model 604 cable skidder is designed for valuable hardwood selective felling applications. Geographic markets include the Northeastern U.S. and Ontario, Canada.

The Tigercat 604 cable skidder is powerful, quick and fuel efficient. It is powered by a Cummins 155 hp Tier II engine enhanced by Tigercat’s hydrostatic drive system with variable speed engine rpm.

An electronic control system governs machine functions. It is robust and well designed. Benefits include integrated troubleshooting and simplified maintenance and repair. Hydraulic pilot lines are eliminated. Full horsepower can be put to the ground for higher pulling speeds.

The engine house is roomy and uncluttered with convenient access to daily maintenance points. The tilting cab provides access to the hydrostatic pump stack, motors and drive-line. The pre-cleaner is housed inside the engine compartment.

With the Tigercat hydrostatic drive, the operator only uses forward and reverse pedals – no gear shifting. The operator can set the minimum engine rpm, depending on terrain conditions, or run at constant rpm for severe terrain conditions. The operator also can limit maximum speed for increased machine control in rough terrain.
