Forest Products Industry Raises Nearly $2 Million For Children’s Hospitals Loggers, forest products businesses and forestry equipment dealers contributed nearly $2 million for local Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in the 2005 Log-A-Load for Kids campaign. By Staff Date Posted: 3/1/2006 Loggers, forest products businesses and forestry equipment dealers contributed nearly $2 million for local Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in the 2005 Log-A-Load for Kids campaign. Loggers and others from 26 states participated in the annual campaign, which is sponsored by the Forest Resources Association. The campaign encourages loggers and others to donate the value of a load of logs — or any amount — to local Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. Loggers in Arkansas led the way in 2005, raising $359,000 for the charitable campaign. Alabama was second with $300,000. Other top states were Virginia, $156,167; North Carolina, $130,307; Louisiana, $125,850; West Virginia, $125,000; and Florida, $102,151. |
