Fecon Track Carrier Features 97 HP Engine

††††††††††† Fecon has introduced the new FTX100L track carrier. It offers big power for high production in tight places.

††††††††††† The Fecon FTX100L features a Kubota 97 hp engine. Operating on steel tracks, the carrier has the ability to run multiple skid steer attachments, including Bull Hogģ mulchers, stump grinders, dozer blades, grapples and shears.

††††††††††† Equipped with standard loader arm arrangement, the Fecon FTX100L offers big tractor reach and load over height in a compact size.

††††††††††† When equipped with the Bull Hog BH74 mulcher, the machine can cut a 60-inch swath. Applications include right-of-way clearing, site preparation, firebreaks, orchard clean-up and removal, processing logging slash, and more.

††††††††††† Optional equipment includes winches, rippers, grapples, buckets and stump grinders.

Precision Husky Offers New Flail Debarker

††††††††††† Precision Husky has introduced a new portable flail debarking system, the model 2300-4, which is designed specially
for hardwood eucalyptus plantation trees.

††††††††††† The four-flail debarker features four flail drums that are reversible and infinitely variable. It is powered by a Caterpillar 580 hp C15 diesel engine.

††††††††††† Although designed specifically for debarking eucalyptus trees, the new Precision Husky machine can be used with any type of softwood species.

††††††††††† The Precision Husky model 2300-A feeds multiple stems at 173 feet per minute with less than 0.3% bark content, according to the company.

††††††††††† The chain flail debarker is designed to match the high performance capabilities of the Precision Husky 2366 whole tree chipper.

††††††††††† For more information, visit www.precisionhusky.com or call (205) 640-2120.

Caterpillar Buys Blount

††††††††††† Caterpillar has acquired Blountís forestry division for $77.3 million. In another transaction, six Caterpillar dealers have agreed to purchase certain assets of Pioneer Machinery.

††††††††††† The Blount forestry division sells timber harvesting equipment, industrial tractors and loaders, and it accounts for about 20% of Blountís revenue.

††††††††††† The two companies have had an agreement to jointly produce and market products globally under the Caterpillar and former Timberking brands. The acquisition will bring all product design, development and manufacturing under Caterpillar.

††††††††††† Caterpillar acquired Pioneer Machinery in 2001, and Pioneer is owned by Caterpillar and six Cat dealers whose service territories cover the same area in the Southeast. Pioneer Machinery operates 23 facilities in six states in the Southeast.

††††††††††† The agreement by the six Caterpillar dealers will better position Caterpillar to serve forestry customers in the Southeast.

Rotochopper B66 Performs Large Capacity Grinding

††††††††††† The Rotochopper B66 mobile wood grinder is a large capacity machine with a 66-inch by 32-inch throat. It is powered by a 630-850 hp diesel engine and features a 42-inch by 66-inch rotor.

††††††††††† Rotochopper has engineered the B66 grinder for quieter, cleaner performance and increased production and ease of control. It is equipped with an oversized, high efficiency muffler for quiet and a solid, smooth infeed belt and wide discharge belt for clean operation.

††††††††††† Two men can change the screens in 20 minutes, and a wide access door makes inspecting and changing teeth fast and convenient.

††††††††††† The Rotochopper B66 is equipped with a state-of-the-art programmable logic control for continuous electrical system diagnostics.

††††††††††† Options include air compressor, cold start package, one pass grind and color system, and dust suppression system. The B66 also is available as a track machine.

††††††††††† For more information, call Rotochopper at (608) 452-3651 or visit www.rotochopper.com.

John Deere Debuts New Series of Track Harvesters

††††††††††† The new John Deere 700JH series track harvesters feature a load-sensing, multi-functioning hydraulic system and provide 15% more cutting swath for more productivity. The series includes the 703JH, 753JH and 759JH models.

††††††††††† The new hydraulic system delivers power and oil immediately, allowing the operator to get more work done faster and more precisely. Hydraulics run cooler and more efficiently for longer pump life.

††††††††††† A 17% increase in flow to the head improves grabbing pressure and speed, and a 23% increase in flow to the main circuits provides more power and efficiency. Swing torque has increased nearly 20%, which enables the operator to harvest trees more efficiently.

††††††††††† The 15% increase in cutting swath allows operators to make a wide range of strategic and productive cuts with less tracking and traveling.

††††††††††† Four-way leveling allows the upper structure to shift a full 3 feet forward, keeping the machineís center of gravity up onto steep inclines.

††††††††††† The harvesters are available with a choice of three Waratah head attachments and two measuring systems.
