Brian Mccumber Wins Prentice Loader Championship at Lake States Logging Congress Brian Mccumber Wins Prentice Loader Championship at Lake States Logging Congress By Staff Date Posted: 11/1/2010 Brian McCumber, Tomahawk, Wis., took home the top prize at the Prentice Loader Championship during the Lake States Logging Congress, September 9-11, in Green Bay, Wis. The competition raised $866 for Log A Load For Kids through voluntary contestant contributions and the company’s match. Log A Load is an organization sponsored by loggers and other forest products people to raise funds for hospitals associated with the Children’s Miracle Network. McCumber received no penalties in his first run, giving him a time of 2 minutes, 40.93 seconds to place in the top five. His final Trophy Run time after no penalties was 2 minutes, 19.85 seconds. Jeff Hartwig, Medford, Wis., took second place with a final time of 2 minutes, 38.81 seconds. Scott Delich, Wakefield, Mich., finished third with a final time of 2 minutes, 39.22 seconds. First, second and third place winners received cash prizes, trophies and Prentice Loader Championship jackets. The fourth and fifth place winners also received jackets. First introduced at Expo Richmond in 1972, the Prentice Loader Championship is a contest in which operators demonstrate their skill with the loader by picking up and moving blocks between two checkerboards.
