Blount International has signed a letter of intent to purchase the assets of Michigan-based Fabtek Inc., which will become part of Blount’s industrial and power equipment group, a manufacturer of mechanical forestry harvesting equipment.

"The acquisition is a major step in our strategy for expansion in product line coverage," said Dennis Eagan, group president. The acquisition will broaden existing product lines, especially with the addition of forwarders, small track feller-bunchers, and cut-to-length harvesting heads, he said.
