For 30 years, BOLDesigns has established a reputation for top-notch engineering in its lumber drying and pallet heat treating systems. Specializing in designs that remove mechanical variables from the process, the company focuses on giving customers more control in their drying or heat treating operations. Toward this end, BOLDesigns dry kiln build concepts include design qualities like smooth interior walls, wall-to-wall heating coils without gaps, center pipe from the control header, solid cast reversible aluminum fans, automatically raised baffles, and patented Wet-Air™ venting.

The patented Wet-Air™ venting system, for example, improves energy efficiency and equilibrium moisture content (EMC) control. This approach vents more evenly and allows for closer control of your wet bulb temperature, according to BOLDesigns. It can result in a 25-30% fuel savings and allows for efficiently drying white woods.

Each kiln unit is made with durable materials including all aluminum/stainless steel construction except for motors and piping. BOLDesigns also uses mineral wool insulation, which has been found in laboratory tests to resist the accumulation of moisture better than foam materials.

Thoughtful design is incorporated into pallet treaters as well. BOLDesigns units are all-aluminum and assembled with stainless steel fasteners and bolts. Non corrosive mineral wool is also used in their pallet treaters. The roof has a 3’ overhang to cover the controls and motors allowing easy access for maintenance. Electrically operated exhaust vent opens at the end of each cycle to exhaust excess moisture in the chamber. The control panel and all electrical systems are located outside of the chamber to avoid any contact with heat. Motors are mounted outside the heated area of the treater to promote long motor life. Smooth interior walls and ceilings improve airflow with less horsepower required compared to other designs.

BOLDesigns offers a bi-fold loading door, which is similar to what is used in the aircraft hangar industry. The bi-fold door and side load style design over time helps save money on labor and decreases the chances of damaging the equipment with a fork lift.

Automated computer controls make the pallet treater easy-to-use thanks to touch screen technology. BOLDesigns offers packages from on the wall operation to fully automated network off site operation. The most basic system will do everything your desk top pc will do. It has its own web address allowing the operator access operations from anywhere in the world via the Internet. BOLDesigns units feature simple controls using a touch screen Windows-based system.

Lumber handling equipment is also now available from BOLDesigns. The company will design and manufacture to the ideas and specifications of their customers. Handling equipment includes lumber stackers, lumber sticking, in feed rolls and chains, out feed rolls, free standing pinch rolls, pull chains, green chains, conveyors, grading stations, automated tally machines, tilt hoists, scissor lifts, platforms, stick conveyors, scrap conveyors, lumber sorting, complete flooring mills, and complete rough mill systems.

The staff of BOLDesigns will build, deliver and install your equipment with on-site technicians to train operators.
